He’s had a lot of months without playing, he’s been training very well, but we’re going to take it easy with him.”
The situation is further complicated by Leoni’s ongoing recovery, as he has been out for an extended period. This leaves Iraola with limited senior options in central defence, particularly with Van Dijk still to resume pre-season training next week.
