In 2006, Deschamps joined Juventus, helping the team return to the top flight after a relegation. He later returned to France to manage Marseille, securing three consecutive Coupe de la Ligue trophies, two French Super Cups, and a Ligue 1 title. He departed Marseille in 2012 to become the coach of the French national team, succeeding Laurent Blanc.
Beyond the 2018 World Cup victory, Deschamps also led France to the UEFA Nations League title in 2021. He has guided Les Bleus to the World Cup quarter-finals on four consecutive occasions, a feat matched by only three other teams.
